**Position Information**:
Moruya High School is an inclusive, comprehensive public high school of some 400 students, 68 Aboriginal students and 50 teaching staff with a Support Unit of seven classes. Our Strategic Directions and positive behaviour for learning culture based on respect, responsibility and aspiration reflect our focus on excellence, with both students and teachers supported and encouraged to grow and thrive.
The school offers a diverse curriculum and a broad range of initiatives to meet the needs of all our students. Our significant Aboriginal student population benefit from the school's strong and productive partnership with the Clontarf Academy and a range of community-based cultural and educational initiatives. Students with disabilities and behavioural needs are catered for in our suite of special education facilities and settings.
We have fostered a strong professional learning community with our partner schools, Moruya Public, Broulee Public and Bodalla Public. We promote academic acceleration for gifted students and extracurricular activities in sports and creative and performing arts.
Student health, resilience and wellbeing is promoted through the work of our Student Support Officer and the Wellbeing Hub. A range of school-based programs support student wellbeing in partnership with health and service providers.
The school is committed to continually improving effective classroom practices with staff professional learning focusing on Explicit Teaching, HPGE and Equity to deliver excellence in learning for all students.

- A highly visible and engaged leader who enhances the wellbeing of students and the school community through the promotion of strong, effective partnerships.
- Demonstrated expertise to lead evidence-based, future-focused teaching practices to maximise learning outcomes for all students within and beyond the school context.
- Demonstrated skills in working collaboratively with partner schools as part of a community of practice to reflect a commitment to inclusive public school education success for every student.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
