**About the Role**

The General Manager, Strategic Delivery & Operations will proactively lead and execute on the function’s strategic plan and direction. The role will oversee the day-to-day operational activities of the Risk and Governance function, ensuring that systems, services, and infrastructure work reliably and securely. This role will be accountable for leading teams that manage and maintain compliance operations, records management, systems reporting and insights, frameworks and policies, and strategy and governance.

This is a significant leadership role within icare, reporting to the Group Executive, Risk and Governance, and requires the ability to think and plan to a three-year horizon with an understanding of the risks of their decision making and the lasting impacts it may have on icare.

**Duties**

It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a **General Manager, Strategic Delivery & Operations **you will:

- Collaborate with peers and internal stakeholders, monitor current claims team performance and ensure that quality assurance and complaint / review processes are effectively managed
- Ensure the alignment with the icare enterprise strategy and the Risk and Governance Strategy and work with the Risk and Governance Leadership Team to drive the achievement of that strategy as a cohesive team.
- Oversee the provision of strategic advice and guidance relating to the management and operations of GIPA, Privacy and right to information related complaints.
- Ensure the effective management and control of operational aspects relating to the organisation’s statutory responsibilities under the Privacy, Health and GIPA legislation.
- Support icare to comply with regulatory and legislative notices effectively and efficiently.
- Provide leadership and direction on the enterprise records and information management strategy and roadmap.
- Oversee the second line assurance activities, which provide monitoring and evidence-based assurance on the design and operating effectiveness of the enterprise Risk and Compliance Management Frameworks and other enterprise policies and activities.

**Skills & Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant business discipline and skills acquired through extensive practical experience
- 8+ years’ experience in Risk Management, Compliance and/or Operations, leading these functions within Financial Services or a large government agency.
- Extensive experience in an operations, governance, risk management, compliance within an insurance, corporate or commercially driven public sector environment.
- Extensive experience in successfully building rapport and influence at all levels from front-line to Board members.
- Experience in a role operating in a fast-paced environment with significant competing priorities, a decentralised leadership model and dealing with ambiguity.
- Extensive experience in developing strong risk management and compliance strategies and frameworks whilst creating and maintaining strong partnerships with executives to drive results throughout the business.
- Proven experience in developing strategy in relation to Risk and Governance both with a short-term horizon and a long-term horizon.
- Proven experience in managing a team to deadlines and providing operational support to ensure the enterprise complies with all regulatory reporting requirements and has shown the ability to provide effective reporting to the Board and Executive Team.
