The Role

As Senior Tax Accountant, you will independently manage and review a mixed client base and be the go-to for quality control across compliance work. You'll also play a role in coaching and mentoring.

Your client base will include a variety of:

  • PAYG individual tax return clients
  • ABN sole traders
  • Small Companies/Trusts (business & investment)
  • Deceased Estates & Testamentary Trusts
  • BAS/IAS preparation and lodgements
  • Ad hoc bookkeeping support

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review tax returns, financial statements, and workpapers across individuals, trusts, companies, and estates
  • Oversee compliance deadlines and manage your own workflow independently
  • Liaise with the ATO and other authorities as required
  • Provide practical support and guidance to clients

  • Coach and support team members, review work at all levels, and uphold technical and quality standards

  • Maintain strong follow‑up and clear communication with clients and team members

  • Full ownership of client relationships—proactive communication and managing the entire client experience

About You

  • 5 + years of experience in a public practice environment
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • Strong technical grounding in Australian tax complianceacross individuals, SMEs, trusts, and estates
  • Confident reviewing work, spotting issues early, and giving constructive feedback
  • Excellent time management, disciplined with deadlines, and self‑sufficient
