RSPCA Victoria is seeking a passionate and experienced Animal Care Supervisor to join our team at Burwood East. You will play a crucial role in leading and motivating your team to provide the highest quality care for animals in our shelter.

**About the role**
As the Animal Care Supervisor, you will provide leadership and support to our Animal Care Team, ensuring the best possible welfare outcomes for every animal in our care.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Lead and develop a team of staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality animal care.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to improve animal welfare outcomes.
- Collaborate with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
- Oversee daily operations and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provide support and guidance to team members.
- Manage animal care issues and resolve problems effectively.
- Prepare and manage team rosters and budgets.
**What we are looking for**
- Previous experience leading and managing a diverse and geographically dispersed team.
- Previous experience in the animal welfare sector, including extensive knowledge of animal anatomy, behaviour, disease recognition and safe handling.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of good animal welfare practices and requirements under shelter related legislation and codes of practice.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and challenging work environment, whilst showing great care and compassion to the animals in our shelter.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
**_ Highly desirable_**
- Formal qualification in shelter medicine, animal care or behaviour
**Recruitment Requirements**
- Current and valid driver’s license
- Current Employee Working with Children’s Check (WWCC)
- Current tetanus vaccination.
