The Policy Advisor, Workforce Data and Analysis, provides expert health and community services workforce intelligence to the branch, department and external stakeholders through the management of the department's large workforce datasets, interpretation and dissemination of authoritative advice.

The successful applicant will require strong data management, data analysis, problem solving and communication skills to work effectively across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

**Accountabilities**:

- Through detailed data analysis and investigation, provide advice on health and community services workforce supply, trends, risks, opportunities and issues to enable evidence-based policy and program development.
- Provide advice on the quality, accuracy and relevance of data in relation to the stakeholder information needs.
- Implement, maintain, and improve appropriate methodologies and data management systems for the collection, collation, analysis and presentation of health and community services workforce data.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of workforce planning methodologies, including data customisation, management and analysis that is fit purpose.
- Identify current and future data requirements trends and provide input into continuous improvement recommendations.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships across the department and work in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions.
- Plan and implement projects or program initiatives based on defined outcomes and outputs.
- Contribute to other work of the team as required by the manager.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Ensure that disclosure and confidentiality requirements related to the department's work are maintained.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
