An outstanding ongoing opportunity exists for an experienced and highly motivated Policy Adviser to join the Infrastructure Planning & Major Projects (IPMP) branch within the Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC).
IPMP Branch provides coordinated policy advice on public transport, roads, ports and freight, urban and regional planning, building, heritage, precincts, suburban development and major capital projects (predominantly transport infrastructure).
As a Policy Adviser, you will support development of policy advice to the Premier, DPC Secretary and senior executives on topical, high-impact issues and reforms. In this role you will experience and contribute to cabinet processes, interdepartmental forums and policy development to help Government meet its commitments. You will work in a fast-paced and dynamic policy environment, in a branch with supportive and engaged peers, and across a range of departments and government agencies.
The Infrastructure, Planning and Major Projects Branch provides policy advice on public transport, roads, ports and freight, urban and regional planning, building, heritage, precincts, suburban development and major capital projects (predominantly transport infrastructure).
The branch contains a broad range of expertise and experience. To succeed in this role, you will have strong policy analysis and stakeholder management skills, and a willingness to take on new topics and challenges.

About you
- Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and co-ordination processes.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills with sound judgement.
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Other relevant information
