**About the Role**
- To be successful in the role as Policy Officer Planning Reform (Legislation), you must work in a team to undertake policy research and analysis, develop policy advice and support engagement with internal and external stakeholders in relation to major planning legislation reforms. In addition, you will also be involved in policy development and input, undertaking internal and public consultation and lastly and develop options for significant legislative reform in the context of the preparation and implementation of legislation.**For detailed description of the role, please click HERE.**

**POSITION OUTCOMES**
- Contribute as part of a team to the development, review and evaluation of complex and innovative legislative reform options. supported by advise that deliver on the government's planning reform priorities.
- Prepare authoritative, timely, and evidence-based advice for Ministers and the Department's executive management on complex and emerging legislative issues that is suitable for its audience and demonstrates a detailed understanding of the policy, political and legal context.
- Develop high quality, authoritative and timely written documents including project plans, briefs, policy papers and cabinet submissions.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships within the department and with other stakeholders both government and non-government, including representing the Department in stakeholder forums as required.

**Desirable**
- A tertiary qualification in urban planning, public policy, law or a related discipline.
- A sound understanding of government policies and strategies, with an emphasis on urban planning and development, combined with a sound knowledge of government processes involved and the _Planning and Environment Act 1987_.
- Experience in the development and implementation of public policy leading to legislation and regulation and the legislation process will be highly regarded.
