**Key Responsibilities**:

- Support Blue Card Services to better service Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants and stakeholders, particularly those in remote and discrete Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, by:

- Ensuring that services are provided in culturally responsive and appropriate ways that maximise cultural acceptability and respect.
- Plan, support, improve and deliver services in a culturally respectful, sensitive and appropriate manner.
- Identify, build and maintain strong and productive working relationships with people in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities who can provide quality and culturally appropriate assistance to applicants who have been asked to make a submission about their police information.
- Assist in the planning and co-ordination of community visits by Blue Card Services.
- Take oral submissions from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants in relation to non-complex blue card assessments and/or assist risk assessment officers to liaise with applicants in relation to complex assessments in order to improve engagement of applicants with police information.
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of culturally appropriate correspondence and other documentation provided to applicants as part of the blue card submissions process.
- Prepare reports in relation to visits to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including identifying challenges to achieving operational outcomes in those communities and assisting in the development of resolutions to those challenges.
- Provide information to internal stakeholders on legislative, policy, procedural and/or administrative matters in relation to the screening provisions of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000, as required.
