**Position Purpose**:
Are you an experienced insurance claims professional with a background in building and construction? The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is seeking a dedicated Assessment Officer to join our Claims Management Improvement Project (CMIP). In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for investigating, assessing, and determining claims under the Queensland Home Warranty Scheme. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding homeowners and service providers through the claims process and ensuring the delivery of rectification services.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Claims Investigation & Assessment**: Review and assess insurance claims in line with relevant legislation, insurance policies, and procedures to determine entitlements and approve payments as delegated.
- **Advice & Communication**: Provide expert advice and support to homeowners and service providers on claims assessment and rectification.
- **Project Contribution**: Assist in monitoring, reviewing, and improving the claims approval process and contribute to the Resolution Services Claims Approval Project plan.
- **Stakeholder Engagement**: Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including providing high-quality customer service and managing a diverse caseload.

**Additional Information**:

- Occasional travel to the Brisbane office and potential overnight stays may be required.
- Compliance with applicable legislation, including the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 (QLD) and the Public Sector Ethics Act 1994, is essential.
