**About the team**:
The Commercialisation Division brings together the department’s policy and program teams working on commercialisation, entrepreneurship and business research. These include the Research & Development Tax Incentive (R&DTI), venture capital and early-stage finance, challenge-based innovation, and responsibility for the Industry Innovation and Science Australia board.
The branch encompasses a number of highly collaborative teams working together to provide holistic business R&D advice to government and ensure the effective and efficient administration of the R&DTI program. The branch provides outstanding opportunities to gain skills across policy development and advice, data intelligence and insights, communications and stakeholder engagement, governance, operations and administrative review, and work with innovative Australian businesses.
The Data Intelligence & Insights Team in the R&DTI Branch is responsible for the collation and analysis of all R&DTI program data to generate policy insights, assess compliance risk, monitor program performance, and improve customer service outcomes.
Data Intelligence and Insights staff exercise expertise in data manipulation and analysis, interpretation and illustration, and provision of advice to inform management and policy decision making.

- Proficiency in at least one of the following data analysis tools / languages: Python, R, PowerBI / DAX, SQL.
- The ability to present, in written or verbal form, data-driven analysis to non-technical senior executive stakeholders.
- The ability to work with stakeholders to understand their analysis needs and co-design custom data analysis projects.
- A drive to spot opportunities for using cutting-edge data analysis techniques to inform policy, automate work and enhance administrative processes and decision-making.
