**Your opportunity**
In this position you will be responsible for administering timely, accurate and relevant processing and recording of payroll and also assist the finance team in other areas of accounting. We currently employ 511 staff who are paid on a fortnightly basis.
You will join an impactful Finance team that is well established and recognised by our internal stakeholders, and which is deeply committed to supporting our workforce.
**Your key duties and responsibilities in this position will include**:
- Timely and accurate processing of end-to-end payroll including salary packaging.
- Respond to staff payroll queries in a timely manner.
- Assist managers by providing necessary reports
- Manage workers compensations and maternity leave payments
- Prepare monthly reconciliations of payroll GL Codes
- Participate in organisation-wide collaborative planning activities and other meetings
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes ensuring services meet professional and industry standards and project work as required
- Other tasks related to payroll and finance assigned from time to time.
This is a full-time, ongoing role based in Spring Hill Brisbane CBD.
The base remuneration for this role is approximately $85,000 to $92,000 per annum, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience, plus superannuation, leave loading, Long Service Leave via Qleave and 5 additional days of paid Wellbeing Leave.
You will also have the opportunity to take advantage of salary packaging to increase your take home pay.
**What you’ll bring**
To succeed in this role, there are some essentials you’ll need:
- Essential: _
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and a good understanding of accounting principles and practices or a similar combination of qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience
- At least 3 years’ experience as a Payroll Officer in a medium to large organisation with a minimum 300 employees
- Strong knowledge of the SCHADS and Nursing Awards and the ability to interpret these awards
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to be organised, prioritise work and consistently meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Desirable: _
- Experience using ADP/ Kronos payrolls systems.
- Experience being part of a payroll system implementation/upgrade project.
