Head of Consumer Platforms

Latitude’s Pay strategic business unit (SBU) provides payment and finance solutions to merchants and their customers wanting to purchase goods or services. Latitude provides choice and flexibility to customers all purchase types - small or big.

Reporting to the General Manager - Technology, the Head of Consumer Platforms role will provide the foundation for the Pay SBU to deliver on its vision, mission and strategy. The role will be responsible for the build and run of our consumer platforms; including prioritisation, coordination, delivery of strategic initiatives, continuously enhancing and improving existing capabilities, while ensuring we run the business well ensuring the appropriate focus and capacity is allocated to improving technical debt and production support.

This role will lead several full stack platform squads, who using fit for purpose iterative delivery frameworks, will focus on delivering iterative improvements across all consumer platforms. In addition, the role will also support large programs that are required to deliver strategy capabilities for the Pay SBU (eg: whitelabelling capability).

As a key leadership role within the technology and product engineering organisation, the role will be required to establish, refine, participate and continuously improve our ways of working and delivery framework, from strategy, prioritisation, planning through to execution and transition to operations.

Strategy, Executing and Operating:

- Lead the strategy development, disciplined execution and operational excellence of PAY’s Consumer technology platform that support the growth of Latitude’s sales finance, direct credit card and BNPL products.
- Lead the development, implementation and evolution of Latitude’s PAY consumer platform architecture that is aligned to and enables Latitude’s Enterprise Architecture.
- Input into architecture roadmaps and governance practices that help the PAY business to deliver on their respective corporate, and business unit strategies.
- Establish and lead high performing engineering teams and culture where each team architects, designs, builds, operates and continuously enhances discrete technology capabilities.
- Review the performance and availability, audit compliance and risk of current architectures and initiative remediation activities as required. Decommission architectures that do not meet business needs.
- Review, revise and reset vendor and third-party contracts to support revised vendor and workforce delivery model that promotes flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness for our business and strategy.

- Ability to lead, inspire and engage cross-functional delivery teams in a matrix structure

- Share knowledge, mentor, and educate employees, partners, customers, and stakeholders with regard to the company’s technology vision, opportunities, and challenges.
- Recruit, train, retain and develop people to build terrific team and culture.

Financial
- Manages and meets operational and investment budgets across their platforms
- Reports on the value delivered by the function, including delivery velocity / throughput and how key measures of productivity and capacity are improved over time.

Let's talk about you
- 8+ years of experience in Agile project delivery methodology and delivery of large projects/programs of work through managing complex technology platforms and teams
- Development and execution of IT strategy
- Ability to conduct research into emerging technologies and make recommendations to drive efficiencies and strategic objectives
- Experience in leading high performing delivery teams in digital environments
- Highly developed organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with building long running platform teams, medium to large scale transformational program teams
- Ability to breakdown complex initiatives into logical sequenced delivery plans
- Experience in managing key technology vendors
