**Description**:
**About the role**:
Geelong Arts Centre Customer Event Officers are part of our frontline team who deliver a level of service and experience that exceeds customer and visitor expectations. As the first point of contact for all visitors to the Centre, the role of Customer Event Officer is key to ensuring people experience our values in every interaction they have with us - receiving a warm welcome where our smile celebrates inclusiveness and our shared passion for creativity.

This role is diverse and engaging, encompassing food & beverage service, concierge, ushering, providing tours, assisting with merchandise, ticket enquiries, cleaning and emergency procedures. Our staff are known for their thorough understanding of the Centre’s programs and their willingness to provide outstanding support, service and solutions to customers and visitors alike.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
Ensure event guidelines and Centre policies are followed, including access to spaces and the use of cameras, food and drink within venues
Effectively operate point of sale system
Provide food and beverage service in line with Centre standards, including taking and fulfilling orders and making suggestions based on customer needs
Provide a welcoming and professional first point of contact and source of information for public enquiries about the venue, programs and the local area.
Follow Centre guidelines with respect to food handling and storage. Assist with stocktake of consumables
Support and guide customers to the location of their event, including acting as Usher, scanning tickets and assisting with ticket enquiries
Sell programs and merchandise, including undertaking stock counts and settlement
Lead tours of the venue
Maintain clean and hygienic work environment including clearing glassware in the venue, wiping over tables and benches throughout the shift
Assist in the set-up, clean up, pack up and delivery of events across the Centre’s venues, including outdoor events
Assist the Supervisor/Duty Manager in ensuring events are delivered on time to ensure patron and hirer satisfaction

**Selection Criteria**:
Essential qualifications and experience

Current Working with Children Check
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
Proven work experience in event delivery or hospitality
Ability to work outdoors and in alternative venues
Ability to see in low light, walking and using stairs, standing for extended periods, manual handling and some lifting

Desirable qualifications and experience

Vast experience in serving food and alcohol to customers
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Outstanding people skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Be proactive, with a can do attitude
Ability to be flexible working over a rotating roster 7 days a week
