A unique and exciting opportunity exists for a group of motivated and highly experienced Emergency Nurses. The SHED Floor Coordinator (ANUM) role will be responsible for coordinating and providing on-shift clinical leadership to the entire Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department.

The Floor Coordinator is responsible for the day to day shift leadership and operational coordination of the Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department. The sits within the departments staffing profile 24/7 - 365 days of the year.

The Floor Coordinator will work with the Emergency Physician/ Senior Medical Officer In Charge (EPIC/SMOIC) to provide support and direction to all staff, to ensure the provision of emergency care services in a timely, efficient and safe manner and undertake a hands-on approach.

The Floor Coordinator is an integral member of the department leadership team, assisting the Nurse Unit Manager in the course of their duties to ensure the provision of nursing care that is excellent in quality and consistently patient centred while achieving effective operational management of the clinical environment.

The Floor Coordinator is responsible for identifying and resolving staffing and skill mix discrepancies that may impede patient flow and department efficiency whilst ensuring streamlined communication between the Emergency Department, Short Stay Unit, Inpatient Wards and Western Health Access and Flow Unit.

The successful applicants will be supported to advance their nursing practice and management skills. The team of floor coordinators are an important addition to the growing nursing workforce profile as we continue to advance the care we provide to our patients in the rapidly growing and expanding Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department.
