**The Role with us**
As a Facility Manager, you will facilitate the delivery of technical service solutions and support our customers IT systems and telecommunication network infrastructure operated by InfraCo at our data centres and critical network facilities. Also, day-to-day management of InfraCo’s data centres and specifically, maintaining the environment for our customer’s key IT systems
In this role, you can’t resist solving problems. Your investigative skills will be put to the test as you work to diagnose and find solutions, activate or repair. You collaborate with stakeholders to ensure our networks and infrastructure are operating efficiently and delivering value to our customers and ensuring optimal network availability.

The key responsibilities and job tasks for this role are:
- Be skilled in the management and operation of complex building engineering services including the operation, performance, and monitoring of Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls; low voltage and high voltage (where relevant) electrical; UPS; backup generators; HVAC including chilled water systems; fire protection systems; and plumbing.
- Become familiar with assigned sites and be responsible for identification of areas of risk or non
- compliance to policies, standards, and procedures within InfraCo’s data centre and priority 1 sites.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of the interrelationships of various plant and controls and their configurations to ensure that appropriate contingencies can be implemented in an emergency.
- Have a detailed knowledge of building engineering services in order to actively participate in design and infrastructure life cycle planning.
- Regularly audit and inspect the sites as necessary to ensure identification of issues that affect the normal operation of the site and communicate with the relevant InfraCo team for rectification and escalation where necessary.
- Ensure the efficient and optimal operation and use of building assets.
- Participate in building related change management activities including Method of Procedure (MOP) review, handover, and acceptance of installed systems.
- Perform the initial response or assessment to faults and alarms in accordance with the processes and response time schedule.
- When applicable, manage the operation of high voltage distribution systems including transformers, switchgear, and associated control Equipment.
- Highlight to InfraCo opportunities for energy management improvements and efficiencies.
- Act as the principal point of contact for day-to-day operations and liaise with building occupants, InfraCo personnel, and InfraCo’s clients on maintenance matters which may impact the normal site operation.
- Challenge behaviours that conflict with Telstra’s Working in Network Sites (WINS) procedure.
- Perform routine maintenance and compliance activities associated with the building services and day to day activities in the building.
- Be skilled in the management and supervision of subcontractors and vendors.
- Review acceptance and validate completion of work orders and invoices.
- Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.
- Monitor the IT change management system for site access requests.
- Monitor/assist/manage the teams as required that are responsible for data centre security, IT infrastructure deployment, raised floor activities, energy, and facilities management at InfraCo’s data centre sites.
