Business Development Executive

**About the Role**:
The Business Development Executive is responsible for Increasing Criteria's market share through developing our customer base and promoting our products. You will be responsible for driving the generation of new sales leads and contracts to achieve sales targets. As a Business Development Executive, you will always look for ways to drive revenue to the business, while being adept at recognising opportunities and capitalising on potential. Your ability to sell our full range of solutions across a range of industries, will be underpinned by training and ongoing coaching and support.
**What You'll Do**:
The primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Achieve individual bookings targets on a quarterly and yearly basis
- Build and complement the company's credibility and image through professional, skilled and trustworthy interactions with our prospective clients
- Identify new opportunities for Criteria products through understanding clients' business needs, challenges and industry issues) following these through the sales process to finalisation, including writing proposals and contracts, presentations, business case documents
- Collaborating with the Customer Success, Customer Support and Consulting Psychology teams to support account management matters, such as growth opportunities, technical matters, consulting projects (ie sales, psychology, product)
- Industry engagement and participation via networking, blogging, online media participation etc
- Host and attend Criteria events (physical, telephone or web) which may require time and travel outside regular office hours
- Cold calling and following up on leads generated from activities such as enquiries from Criteria website, marketing campaigns and industry events and any other initiatives from the New Business Manager
- Accurate record keeping in Salesforce with activities and opportunities
- Deliver on Sales and Marketing Strategic Projects/Campaigns as agreed with the Manager of New Business and the VP of Sales.
- Liaise with the marketing team to provide input into activities and campaigns that will assist in the sales process
**General**
- You will be required to comply with all internal procedures, processes and policies of Criteria (via our designated systems)
- This role will require travel - both local and infrequently interstate
- Undertake other reasonable tasks consistent with skills, qualifications and experience, as may be required from time to time.
**What You Should Know/Have**:
To be successful in this role the incumbent will demonstrate the following:
- Proven sales skills and experience
- Proficient in the use of sales tools/methodologies (eg Salesforce)
- Significant previous experience in a solutions selling BDM/sales roles
- Knowledge of the HR / recruitment / psychometric assessment industry (desirable)
- Knowledge of or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of Criteria products and systems
- Strong Microsoft Office package skills, particularly Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel
- A proven networker, and lead generator with a demonstrated strong conversion rate
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
