**Position Information**:
Elizabeth Macarthur High School is a partially selective high school in Narellan Vale, NSW, with 1350 students, including 67 Aboriginal students and 20% EAL/D students. The school has a mission statement that is at the centre of all processes and practices, "Shaping the future by pursuing excellence and creating boundless opportunities”. The school has a learning platform that includes 4Matt, Gerric and Glasser and has strong curriculum links with its feeder primary schools. The school has a trade training centre as well as links with local universities and is involved with many community of schools partnerships with other high schools.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Proven expertise in developing and implementing initiatives that support the schools' strategic directions and systems identified targets in student growth and attainment for literacy and numeracy for all learners, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and high-potential and gifted students.
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, leading and delivering high impact professional learning that fosters continuous improvement in literacy and numeracy for a diverse student body.
- Capacity to lead the analysis of school-based and system data and evidence to inform the development of teaching and learning practices that support improved student learning outcomes in literacy and numeracy for a diverse student body.
- Demonstrated highly developed organisational and interpersonal skills to effectively lead a collaborative team of teachers in communicating effectively to a range of stakeholders to successfully implement literacy and numeracy initiatives across the school.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
