**Position Information**:
Cranebrook High School is a comprehensive co-educational high school servicing a diverse community in Western Sydney with a current enrolment of 870 students, 20% of the school population identifies as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, 5% NESB, and a staff of 85 teachers and support staff. CHS has a large Support Faculty catering for 70 students and focuses on social and learning inclusivity. The school has a dynamic student leadership group that contributes significantly to the wider school community. CHS has strong and engaging programs in all areas of the curriculum. The school has developed strong links with community organisations to support and improve student learning and engagement. The teaching and support staff at CHS is committed and diverse in terms of experience.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated capacity to lead a high performing Learning Assistance team and lead whole school development in the implementation of differentiated teaching and learning programs and assessment practices.
- Capacity to effectively lead and deliver high quality professional learning catering for the requirements of a teaching staff with a range of experience.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the executive team to lead data driven initiatives that support increased student engagement and learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated well developed organisational, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to build positive relationships and provide leadership to teams to support the development of a school culture based on high expectations, inclusion and explicit teaching.**
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
