Our Federal Government client is seeking to engage a Assistant Director, Governance and Audit

**Position Overview**

The Assistant Director, Governance and Audit oversees the preparation of the Agency's core governance and planning documents, including those required under the Safe Work Australia Act 2008 (Cth) and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act (PGPA Act) 2013 (Cth).

The role also ensures the Agency meets it obligations in relation to internal audit and oversight, and works with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Agency's audit program is progressed.

Your responsibilities will include:

- preparing, maintaining and providing strategic advice on the governance framework for the Agency, including Portfolio Budget Statements, Corporate and Operational Plans, the Agency Work Plan and the Annual Performance Statement
- managing the internal audit contract and program, including liaison with the Agency's internal audit partners
- providing secretariat support to the Audit Committee, including liaison with the external Audit Committee Members, to ensure both the Committee and the Agency meet their obligations under the PGPA Act
- maintaining knowledge and awareness of the Agency's core policy work, emerging issues and stakeholder priorities in order to contribute strategically to key discussions and briefing and to inform planning and performance reporting, and
- maintaining knowledge and awareness of WoAG requirements and process as they relate to the role and providing advice and briefing in relation to these matters.
