**ABOUT THE BRANCH AND TEAM**

Ministerial and Parliamentary Services (MaPS), a division of Department of Finance (Finance), provides parliamentarians, their staff, and others as required by the Australian Government, with a range of facilities and services to assist them in undertaking their duties.

MaPS Capital Works and Security team, within the Parliamentary Business Resources Framework branch, in collaboration with key stakeholders, leads key divisional initiatives, to deliver major capital works and security enhancements to Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices (CPOs) and Electorate Offices as required.

CPOs are located in the capital city of each state and the Northern Territory and provide:

- permanent office accommodation to some senators, federal ministers or other office holders
- visiting suites, meeting rooms and conference facilities available on a short-term basis for use by parliamentarians (and accompanying staff).

**ABOUT THE**
**OPPORTUNITY**

Finance also works closely with the Attorney-General’s Department, the Australian Federal Police and other agencies to ensure appropriate security arrangements are in place for CPOs.

Key duties will include:

- support Finance’s Agency Security Advisor and Assistant Director Capital Works and Security to develop, deliver and implement key security initiatives relating to CPOs
- develop and maintain Departmental protective security policies, procedure and guidance for CPOs based on the PSPF and agency specific security threats and risks, liaison in partnership with the Finance Protective Security Team
- maintain and/or upgrade CPO physical security infrastructure and support the ongoing management of physical security operations by State Office teams
- collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders regarding security in CPOs across a national footprint
- facilitate or assist in investigations of security related incidents in CPOs in partnership with the Finance Protective Security Team
- facilitate or assist in security threat and risk assessments for CPOs
- represent the department at meetings and working groups and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and service providers.

This opportunity is being offered in all CPO locations, with a preference for Canberra ACT, Melbourne VIC, or Sydney NSW.
