**WHO Collaborating Centre for Influenza**

**About us**
- The Centre is one of 5 global WHO Influenza Reference Laboratories that analyses influenza viruses and helps with the recommend of influenza vaccine compositions.
- The Centre’s outputs help to mitigate the impact of influenza on the community, better understand the evolution of the virus and to prepare for future pandemics.
- The Centre is part of VIDRL (Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratories) which is overseen by RMH and is based at the Doherty Institute in Melbourne.
**Your new role**:
- The primary focus of this position is to support the staff at the Centre by performing a range of administrative tasks and to assist the Director and Deputy Director of the Centre
- Provides general administrative support, and act as the primary contact person for the centre
- Provides administrative support to the centre's laboratory management system, including but not limited to, sample data entry, reporting, extraction and compilation of data and ensuring overall efficiency and accuracy
- Manages staff electronic timesheets, leave, reimbursements and travel arrangements.
- Organise events, workshops, centre retreats, meetings and visits to the centre
**About you**:
- Relevant experience in a personal or administrative support role in an organisation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and experience in editing of presentations and reports.
- Proficient across the Microsoft Office suite and competent with office-based technologies and other software packages such as Adobe Illustrator or Biorender or equivalent.
- Manage staff timesheets, leave, reimbursements and travel arrangements.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment, and independently.
- Problem solving skills and ability to manage workload effectively
- Previous experience in a medical or research related field, and/or working in a laboratory environment will be considered desirable
