About the Role

Team leaders will oversee the day to day operations. They are responsible for ongoing daily support to Local Area Coordinators to deliver quality supports and services to the participant in accordance with NDIA and SSI processes, policies and targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor team members in the provision of support to individuals accessing the NDIS and those with a disability who are not eligible for the NDIS.
- Allocation and monitoring of LAC workloads and workflows to achieve targets across the team and to manage staff wellbeing.
- Act as an escalation point for complaints / complex queries and issues that are outside of normal process/procedure
- Work in partnership with members of the Leadership team to identify opportunities for capacity building in the local community.
- Encourage, support and resource team members to build positive partnerships between individuals, families, carers, local organisations, businesses and the broader community to build a more inclusive, welcoming and accessible community
- Work with the leadership team to achieve consistency in practices across the LAC program.
- Work with team members to develop a sound understanding of the key issues for people with disabilities and use this to inform local planning. Identify opportunities in collaboration with team members where they can participate in and contribute to the local community, including community-driven education, events and capacity building
- Work with NDIA counterparts to ensure quality plans are built and congruent to NDIA reasonable and necessary guidelines and are implemented and reviewed in expected timeframes.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Relevant qualifications in human services or community development and/or Demonstrated experience working in the human services sector
- Demonstrated experience leading a high performing team in a challenging service environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage a variety of tasks and display personal drive and integrity.
- Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills and the ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with participants and stakeholders.
- Lived experience or awareness of the impact of disability upon individuals, families, carers and the community.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure cultural consideration of the needs of people and families from CALD communities in service access and delivery.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and in a range of locations across a local area when required
