We’re looking for a collaborative service and system design leader who can help lead our team as we design and implement a model for a universal year of early learning for every child in NSW, in the year before school.
We’re placing families, educators and teachers, and the wider sector at the centre of a design approach and looking for experienced Service and System Design leader to join us.

**About the Early Childhood Outcomes Division**
The Early Childhood Outcomes Division leads the delivery of the Early Years Commitment program, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child - in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future.

**The Opportunity**

As the Manager, Design you’ll be able to mentor and grow a team who are tackling complex service and system design work. You’ll lead programs in a collaborative and agile way to support the government’s Universal Pre-Kindergarten commitment and ensure the needs of families, children and early childcare teachers and educators are at the heart of what we do.

**To be successful in this role you will need the following**:

- Previous experience in leading teams to create service design outputs and use them to facilitate understanding and change within organisations
- Previous people management experience, with a focus on developing design capabilities inside a team
- Great communication skills - you’ll need to be able to engage with external and internal teams, the wider community, managers and executives of all levels.
- Demonstrated experience using service design artefacts (including journey maps and service system blueprints) to communicate to a wide range of stakeholders

**Essential requirements of the role**
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.

**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
