**The Role**
The APS 5 Learning and Development (L&D) Officer supports the design, development, and evaluation of comprehensive learning programs tailored to the needs of personnel involved in explosives handling and safety. This role ensures the delivery of engaging and effective learning experiences.
The Directorate of Ordnance Safety (DOS) is a business unit of Explosive Ordnance Branch (EOB), within Joint Logistics Command (JLC). We are looking for an agile and enthusiastic individual with a commitment to training and developing others.
Importantly, they will have the ability to develop good relationships and support networks across a wide array of stakeholders.
**About our Team**
The Explosives Safety Regulatory Framework (ESRF) is an outcome-focused, principle-based framework that aligns with Commonwealth Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation for managing the risks associated with Explosive Ordnance (EO). The ESRF integrates with and supports Defence WHS policy and other related Defence regulatory systems that enable Defence Capability.
DOS administers the ESRF for Defence, maintaining the knowledge necessary to inform the management of critical explosives safety risks within the Guided Weapon and Explosive Ordnance (GWEO) Enterprise.
This provides exciting opportunities to build upon your existing engineering and chemistry experience, developing specialist explosives and engineering skillsets, and advising innovative and novel Defence projects.
- Possesses knowledge and / or experience in EO.
- Excels at developing engaging L&D programs.
- Be able to revise training materials, ensuring they are effective and tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Be able to evaluate feedback from participants and trainers to continuously improve systems and processes.
- Assist with policy activities, supporting the APS6 Project Support Officer with the Professionalisation framework, and contribute to policies that enhance the professional growth and capabilities of the Defence EO community.
- Be able to effectively contribute and work within a small team to achieve business outcomes.
- Have the ability to work independently or with limited guidance.
