**About Research, Innovation and Commercialisation**
RIC is a specialist team dedicated to enabling the University's research and innovation mission working closely with our academic and professional colleagues, industry partners, funding and government agencies. We have a passion to see our academics and their collaboration partners succeed, achieve research excellence and translate their discoveries into real-world innovation and impact. RIC operates University-wide across all ten Academic Divisions and Chancellery.
Research Grant and Contract Services (RGCS) within RIC supports the submission of grant proposals (Idea to Proposal) and the post-award administration (Contract to Output) for a wide range of Australian and international research funders.
**About the Role**
As the Team Leader, Research Grants and Contracts, you will be responsible for leading a team as part of the Contract to Output area. You will focus on assisting academics with all aspects of post-award administration of research funding, while working closely with the Team Manager to effectively and sustainably deliver services across the grant life cycle.
You will also liaise with research funders to plan, oversee and develop new workflows of complex tasks and provide high quality advice to stakeholders. In addition, you will also be expected to work on organising seminars, co-ordinating with other areas of University administration, as well as data entry into research management systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading a team to support academics with all aspects of post-award administration for research funding
- Negotiation (where necessary) and acceptance of research funding and post-award compliance oversight of grants
- Coordination of communication between research funders and researchers to ensure timely reporting on grant progress and final reports
- Provision of pre-award administrative grant support such as reviewing grant proposals prior to submission
**About You**
You will demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, work to competing deadlines and maintain high level attention to detail. You will also have strong communication skills with experience in maintaining effective stakeholder relationships. Along with your ability to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies and procedures and thrive in a flexible, changing and fast-paced environment, you demonstrate good judgement and the ability to undertake tasks with mínimal supervision.
You will also have:
- Tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Experience leading, coaching and developing members of a team
- Experience working in a University environment and delivering information sessions/seminars _(desirable) _
- Expert knowledge of research funding and contracting, with a specific knowledge in relation to Australian Research Council funding and contracting _(desirable)_
