**About the Role**
The Research Grants Officer will primarily support academics in preparing and submitting high-quality grant proposals for domestic and international research funding schemes. The role also involves liaising with research funders, coordinating University-wide administrative processes, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing expert advice, organising seminars, and maintaining research data systems, while demonstrating a strong customer-focused approach and the ability to adapt to various team environments.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing grant proposals to ensure eligibility and competitiveness, assisting in pre-award planning, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for successful submission and acceptance of grants.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with academics, research administrators, and external funding agencies while providing high-quality advice and information.
- Contributing to reporting for senior management, facilitating training sessions, maintaining research data integrity, and supporting workshops and development activities.

You will have excellent administrative and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail. Your strong communication skills will enable you to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, and you will demonstrate sound judgement, initiative, and the ability to work independently while seeking guidance when needed. Thriving in a fast-paced and evolving environment, you will adapt to change with flexibility and professionalism.
You will also have:
- A tertiary qualification with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Experience working in a university environment, understanding its structures and processes.
- Proven ability to deliver information sessions, seminars, or presentations to diverse audiences.
