**The role**:
Support end-to-end strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, and contract award processes, ensuring adherence to best commercial practices and value for money principles.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide expert advice and guidance to staff on procurement plans, compliance with policies, and strategic procurement initiatives, fostering a culture of excellence in procurement activity.
- Collaborate with various business functions to develop procurement strategies, practices, and processes, contributing to future activity planning and optimisation.
- Lead procurement reporting, total cost analysis, and intelligence gathering to identify sector insights, best practices, benchmark standards, and performance indicators.
- Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives, manage complex go-to-market events, and provide advice on evaluation assessments, ensuring probity and value for money.
- Participate in contract negotiations, assess Best and Final Offers (BAFOs), and implement strategic procurement focuses in emerging areas such as social and sustainable procurement.
- Optimise supplier selection, onboarding, and management strategies, contributing to procurement and supply chain strategy development and vendor capability enhancement.

**Successful Applicants will hold**:

- Specialised knowledge and experience in tendering procedures, contract management, and tender development, with a focus on reducing unnecessary contract variations.
- Proficiency in administrative and organisational skills, including multitasking, problem-solving, and operating within tight schedules.
- Strong understanding of contract terminology, Australian Standards contracts, and relevant Local Government Legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
