**About Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO)**
The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) is a statutory body established under the Aboriginal Housing Act 1998 (NSW) to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have access to affordable, quality housing.
The AHO is governed by an all-Aboriginal Board, which provides advice to the Minister for Housing and Homelessness. In addition, the AHO manages and coordinates an annual capital works program, along with developing and implementing financial and resourcing strategies.
**Your role**
This is an exciting opportunity to join the People Strategy & Development Team which provides support to staff across the Aboriginal Housing Office. The role is responsible for delivering operational and technical recruitment support to internal stakeholders to effectively manage recruitment requests and achieve change and business improvement outcomes.
**What you’ll do**
As part of the People Strategy & Development team, you will provide sound recruitment advice and guidance to staff across the Aboriginal Housing Office. With a strong focus on collaboration and efficiency, the People Partner will support the Senior People Partner as well other internal stakeholders through optimising the use of recruitment information to support workforce planning and the improvement of processes.
You will also be responsible for:
- Developing, analysing and managing systems and processes to support AHO recruitment activities.
- Providing support to line managers such as briefing note drafting, recruitment planning, ad-writing assistance and advice on contingent labour and employee-based recruitment.
- Participating in project teams and coordinating and managing designated recruitment project activities to achieve AHO recruitment objectives.
- Providing advice to clients to develop awareness of recruitment policies, to promote compliance and facilitate best practice outcomes and mitigate risk.
- Providing recruitment support to the People Strategy & Development team that is in line with policy and legislative requirements and facilitates best practice outcomes.
**What we’re looking for**
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound knowledge of the GSE Act and the relevant processes regarding recruitment.
- Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal cultural beliefs and attitudes and of the socio-economic position of Aboriginal people within Australian society, and of their impacts in relation to housing.
- Experience in managing various stakeholders.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
