As the GM of Road Express (South/West), you will be responsible for the leadership and development on all matters related to national operations including management of metro depots. As an integral member of the Road Express Senior Leadership team, you will report directly to the Executive General Manager Road Express, contributing towards all strategic matters related to operations and service delivery.
- Managing a large budget and high performing team you will be responsible for leading and coordinating all operations resources to control costs, improve productivity and deliver on or exceed customer service expectations in alignment with the Road Express strategy.

You will also be accountable for making key decisions related to developing capability for operations including maintaining an efficient and effective network, optimizing all resources, and maintaining high levels of service delivery quality

Key areas of focus

1. Safety Leadership expertise and evolving the safety culture

2. Operations Leadership ensuring improving efficiency levels and exceeding customer expectation

3. Financial Leadership ensuring metrics improve and ongoing efficiency initiatives are identified and implemented

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in senior roles leading large operational teams and having ownership over outcomes on a high volume complex, road network infrastructure.

Demonstrated leadership on operations management within Australia including managing a range of network assets is essential, coupled with experience and knowledge on strategic management of a national network operations, including service delivery levels and seasonality of industry demand and supply.

You will be comfortable working in an environment of constantly competing priorities and managing these priorities to enable completion of projects while delivering day to day tasks in the required timeframes. You’ll have proven communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills and will be accustomed to developing trusted and productive internal and external business relationships. A customer centric approach, ability to drive results in a complex matrix environment, and desire to mentor and develop a team will ensure your success in this role.
