**Job Description**:
Based in Melbourne, we are actively seeking an innovative and trailblazing GM to support in expanding and reshaping the Express business. Your focus will be to drive operational excellence nationally and lead the change from the current state-based model to a national model. This includes managing and coordinating all operations resources to control costs and deliver customer excellence.

Reporting to the Executive General Manager, you will lead the VIC, SA & WA business unit of 1000 employees with the assistance of 7 direct reports. You will be accountable for all matters related to network management, service delivery and cost optimisation. This is an exciting time of change and growth for GE, particularly within Express Parcels, and you will have responsibility for a range of high priority business objectives including:

- Leading and optimising national operations within Express across all key assets for VIC, SA and WA
- Providing leadership and guidance to the Exec team and other senior leaders within Operations, aligned with GE’s strategic objectives
- Contributing to the strategic direction of the GE Express business and driving change within the transition to the new national / functional operating model
- Accountability for the division’s operations budget, ensuring division expenditure is within budget by analysing cost effectiveness and directing cost control activities where required
- Constantly working to promote safe work practices and safe working environments

**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- A degree in either Business or Supply Chain & Logistics Management or similar
- Proven experience in Operations Leadership within Transport and Logistics (minimum of 10 years’ experience in similar level leadership role)
- Focus on continuous improvement and demonstrated change management experience
- Clear understanding of network and, transport and logistics management
- Demonstrated experience working in a transport and logistics change environment
- Proven experience in managing national operations, and multiple geographic assets and resources
