**Non Executive Director (Voluntary), Metro Assist**

Metro Assist Limited is a not-for-profit organisation with 36 years experience in delivering
settlement services for newly-arrived migrants and refugees, including family services, tenant
advocacy, financial counselling, employment support and community engagement activities in
Sydney’s Inner West and Canterbury Bankstown areas.
We are looking to appoint two new suitably qualified Board Directors to complement our diverse
Board. We are seeking applicants who have a genuine interest in Metro Assist’s purpose and goals as
well as:
- Industry specific knowledge and experience related to Metro Assist’s purpose gained from
experience in community, leadership, program, social policy or advocacy roles, or
- Knowledge and understanding of the migrant, refugee or vulnerable persons journey.
Applicants with a lived experience of the journey will be highly considered.
This is a volunteer position. Time commitments for Directors normally occur after hours. The Board
currently meets between 6 and 8 times per annum (including an AGM), with the occasional
invitation to key stakeholder events.
