**About the Opportunity**
The Restrictive Practices Team is responsible for the regulation of the authorisation of restrictive practices (such as seclusion, or chemical, mechanical, physical or environmental restraint) by NDIS service providers and Behaviour Support Practitioners in NSW.
In this role you will work as part of a team that provides restrictive practices authorisation advice and support to the sector. You will contribute to building the capacity of the sector and strengthening a positive authorisation culture committed to reducing and eliminating restrictive practices, human rights and promoting the safety and wellbeing of people with disability.
In addition to the above, the Project Officer’s key tasks include:
- Utilise your effective communication skills with internal and external stakeholders to build collaborative relationships and promote change in the sector that directly contributes to the reduction and elimination of restrictive practices and better outcomes for individuals
- Support capacity building in restrictive practice authorisation through assisting NDIS service providers to understand the authorisation requirements in accordance with NSW Government restrictive practice authorisation legislation and policy and access and utilisation of the NSW RPA System
- Provide advice to the Manager on key issues impacting on the provision of support, key risk issues and the identification of opportunities for improvement
- Monitor and responding to incoming enquires and support requests
- Prepare resources, reports and correspondence
- Establish administrative processes to support the restrictive practices authorisation function.
**Responsibilities**
- Contribute to the design, implementation and coordination of projects that deliver effective business unit outcomes and meet client service delivery needs.
- Undertake research and analysis to support the development of key projects and the improvement of processes across DCJ and ensure the use of project management methodologies and processes to allow for consistent high quality outcomes.
- Manage and oversee particular aspects of projects and implementations, including developing and monitoring project plans, coordinating resources, and monitoring budgets to ensure successful project milestones are met.
- Prepare a range of project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information.
- Deliver on assigned projects and processes within agreed upon deadlines and quality standards.
- Liaise and work across DCJ Divisions and non-government stakeholders to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.
- Work effectively with team members towards mutual continued development and provide feedback to each other on project work undertaken.
- Seek out and actively manage key internal and external stakeholder relationships based on open and regular discussions and feedback, to ensure effective interface between program development, planning, service design and policy implementation.
**Essential Requirements**

- Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012
