**The Unit**

The Crisis Response & Recovery unit leads state-level preparedness and response to disaster and emergencies arising from a range of hazards. The Crisis Response & Recovery unit also ensures strategic development, implementation and evaluation of best practice policies, programs, and projects to support the achievement of the NSW Department of Education’s objectives in relation to emergency and incident preparedness and response coordination.

**Purpose of the role**

The Project officer will be required to provide a range of high-level project support through the implementation of assigned delivery activities and report project progress to the Senior Project Officer. You will need to be able to undertake research and analysis of project data generated by implementation activities to identify emerging issues and prepare briefs for management. Business critical issues will need to be escalated for additional advice on resolution.

You will also need to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and actively participate in system reviews to identify opportunities for development.
