As Supply Chain Manager-Steel, you will lead the supply planning function and manage and facilitate the supply and Operational Planning (S&OP) process, logistics and procurement. The Supply Chain Manager-Steel leads and contributes to special projects and other supply chain and business initiatives.
Through practical and critical thinking mindset, The Supply Chain Manager -Steel is accountable for:
- Leading a complex portfolio of products, including products with high levels volume, a diverse set of manufacturing sites and alternate customer channels.
- Collaborating with key members of the Industrial Division leadership team participating and delivering the strategic direction, business improvement initiatives and achieving the Divisional budget.
- In collaboration with the Supply Chain Managers & Demand Planning Manager:
- Leading and developing a robust S&OP process in the Steel division for Supply Review, working in collaboration with demand, finance, and manufacturing sites, and;
- Leading and driving best practice Supply Management disciplines, principles, and behaviours. Driving and own improvements in planning systems, reporting, teams, and processes, and;
- Leading and driving new product introduction working closely with Sales & Operations leadership teams.
- Reviewing the manufacturing footprint and formulating a network design (warehouse, transport lanes, etc.).
- Managing raw material sourcing and distribution, including processes, and system selection and implementation.
**Your skills and experience will include**:
- Experience in a supply chain leadership role of increasing responsibility.
- Strong matrix, global organisation management demonstrating relationship management skills with excellent written & verbal communication and ability to ‘cut through’ the organisational challenges.
- Experience in using and improving systems (SAP ERP and Oracle preferred).
- Good leadership skills and the ability to influence those outside of direct reporting lines.
- Knowledge of processes in sales, marketing operations, finance, and manufacturing.
- Strong Commercial acumen
- Demonstrated Logistics & Supply Chain experience:
- Excellent understanding of physical logistics (transport, warehouse, 3PL) management
- Awareness of Chain of Responsibility requirements and management
- Strong discipline in implementing and sustaining process and systems to support set KPI’s.
- Solid analytical skills, rational decision making, objectivity, creativity, negotiation skills and a strategic thinker with a long-term view.
- Problem solving mindset
- Demonstrated ability to use data, knowledge, and experience to identify problems and proactively develop and implement effective solutions.
- Demonstrated capability to communicate clearly and concisely ensuring messages are understood by all within the team.
- Managing Change - Demonstrated capability to lead, support and manage change within teams.
- Demonstrated capability to lead continuous improvement activities and encourage team members to identify ineffective processes and contribute to new ideas and ways of working.
