About the Role:
Our incredible Brand team are looking to appoint a permanent, full time, Social Media Specialist to be based out of our Blackburn, Melbourne office (with hybrid working arrangements).

The role’s objectives are to grow and enhance the performance of social media marketing and be a designated social media support across the organisation in order to support and improve the overarching marketing goals of The Salvation Army (TSA) by leading the implementation of TSA’s paid social media strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor social media industry developments and advise appropriate tactics and organic strategies including changes in the social media algorithms and channel behaviour, and competitor review
- Prepare campaign and monthly content performance reports when requested
- Support the copy writing, asset development, content briefs and tone of voice for all social media posts on TSA channels
- Provide active support during and following crisis events including employing social media strategies as directed by the Manager to monitor issues on social platforms
- Ensure all assigned social media activities are developed and executed in accordance with legislation, TSA policy and values and applicable Codes of Practice
- Assist with community management (monitoring, responding to comments and private messages) to ensure positive brand sentiment and engagement with our online community

About you:

- Degree in Marketing/Communications (or related discipline)
- At least two year’s experience in a similar role with responsibility for social media channels for a brand or organisation
- An understanding of marketing principles and social media creative best practice
- Clear understanding for asset types and placements across all owned organic social channels
- Experience in writing and editing copy for organisations or brands
- Experience in developing, creating and maintaining content calendars
