**The Role**
The Melbourne Assessment Prison is an Australian remand and reception prison located in Spencer Street, West Melbourne, Victoria.

Our Medical Officers are an integral part of the primary healthcare team at the correctional facility and are primarily responsible for:

- The provision and supervision of medical care to patients
- Providing medical input to clinically related matters
- Evaluation of medical programs and medical services required and/or provided
- Working as an integral part of the health care team for the site and for Correct Care Australasia (Correct Care)

**Essential experience and attributes include the following selection criteria**:

- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience
- Fully registered by AHPRA
- Experience in general practice, mental health, drug and alcohol or emergency care
- Ability to provide appropriate diagnosis and treatment
- The ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
