**About the Role**:
The Geoscience team within Western Australian Iron Ore (WAIO) is responsible for ensuring the quality of all geochemical sampling and assays, from the long-term strategic exploration drill programs through to short-term grade control sampling, where WAIO uses advanced downhole assay tools. We are seeking a Technical Quality & QAQC Specialist who is passionate about quality and driven to improve processes and systems. You will join our Geochemistry and Geophysics team and will be the key point of contact with our internal and external laboratories and drilling contractors. You will be responsible for monitoring and communicating key quality metrics on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis and ensure geochemical sampling and assaying is maintained to a high standard. You will work with the team to drive improvements across all geochemical sampling horizons from Strategic, Tactical and Grade Control sampling.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Ensure geochemical data collected in Geoscience work programs satisfies required technical quality standards.
- Reporting of Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) results for Resource Estimation in compliance with JORC and SEC requirements.
- Drive improvement projects aimed at improving quality of sampling systems and processes.
- Keep abreast of new sampling, preparation and analytical technologies, practices, and standards.
- Training and mentoring geologists and laboratory operators on sampling and analytical techniques.

**About You**:
You will have strong analytical skills, be very proactive, and driven to improve processes and systems. Stakeholder engagement skills are essential allowing you to build relationships and to communicate technical and quality outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in geoscience or chemistry.
- Previous experience working in or with laboratories and knowledge of laboratory quality control systems and processes.
- Exposure to drilling and geochemical sampling processes would be advantageous.
- Computer literacy and exposure to data analytics tools such as PowerBI, Spotfire, ioGAS etc.

You will have a passion for quality control and assurance, problem solving and driving improvement initiatives.

The role has the potential for job sharing and this role is well suited to a flexible work arrangement, including working from home. Visits to site and internal and external laboratories will be required on a semi-regular basis.
