The Coordinator Waste Services & DRRC position provides support of all City of Darebin waste services, focused on continual business improvements within the Operations and Waste Services division, through active engagement you will lead a team focusing on long term sustainability, while meeting organisational and Council service level obligations and visions.

**About the Role**
The Coordinator Waste Services and DRRC supports the Darebin community and implementation of the Darebin Council Plan by leading delivery of high-quality services including kerbside waste collection, litter prevention programs, Darebin Resource Recovery Centre and street cleaning services. The position holds a pivotal role in delivering day to day waste and street cleansing operations, fostering a culture of inclusivity, safety, and excellence, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance services for the community.

The coordinator is responsible for effective operational management including:

- Establishing a culture that is welcoming for all, which prioritizes safety, is focused on delivery for community and enables continuous improvement.
- Delivering strategic work that strengthen and improve services and functions into the future, including in response to changes in external needs, obligations, risk and opportunities.
- Ensuring that the operational management of the unit is effective for ensuring safety and compliance, achieving delivery, and managing risk.
- Working as part of the Operations & Waste leadership team and across other relevant council departments to together realise the Community Vision, including collaborating with other leaders to take a ‘one team’ approach to addressing challenges, or progressing opportunities.

**Skills & Experience**
- Degree or diploma in organisational strategy, waste management (or related discipline) with relevant experience plus post graduate qualifications or lesser formal qualifications with extensive and diverse experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience in the function of waste, resource recovery centre and street cleansing services.
- Track record in leading change, cultural transformation and innovation at an organisational or major function level.
- Outstanding people management skills including proven ability to facilitate employee development, model expected behaviours, conflict resolution and align selection with organisational goals and values.
- Extensive experience in managing complex service and program delivery with significant resource demands and community expectations.
- Exemplary financial management, strategic planning and advocacy skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to a customer first approach to delivering operational services.
