As a Scrum Master, you'll be an informal leader for your team, guiding them towards improved performance and collaboration. You'll work closely with the team to identify areas for improvement and support them in delivering high-quality products. In addition, you'll have a broader perspective, seeking to positively influence activities outside the immediate team when relevant. The aim is to foster a productive work environment that enables the team to function at an optimal level and deliver valuable outcomes.

What you'll do

You will achieve your mission by owning the following responsibilities:

- Define Suitable Operating Model/Rhythm: Ensure squad(s) are working in a way that suits both the type(s) of work they're doing and the environment they're doing the work in.
- Create Delivery Policies & Quality Standards: Ensure squads/initiatives/areas have clear policies and quality standards and being followed.
- Use Scale-able Approaches for Info Management: Define, embed, and adapt simple, consistent, and scale-able approaches used by squads to manage information.
- Encourage Use of Data: Influence POs, squads, and initiatives to use data to improve performance and outcomes in the lead to, throughout and after delivery.
- Be a Product Owners 'Right-hand': Take on additional responsibilities, as required and agreed, to support the Product Owner when needed.
- Establish Feedback Mechanisms: Define and support to adapt regular and consistent approaches to capture, learn from and improve on feedback.
- Focus on Continuous Improvement: Identify, influence and lead activity to improvement team and broader area performance.
- Enable Value Articulation & Benefit Realisation: Establish and adapt a consistent approach or set of approaches for understand both the value and impact of work (deliverables).
- Uplift Tooling Capability: Expand knowledge and use of appropriate tools to improve the management and understanding of work across the squad.
- Develop Facilitation Skills: Initially facilitate, then develop the skills of others to reduce key person risk by transitioning facilitation of squad & tribe events.
- Influence Other Areas: Expand the influence outside of immediate area(s) (e.g., other squads, cluster, tribe, central areas such as Group Risk and Strategic Delivery), to develop and embed consistent, workable approaches for own area(s).

What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
As s pragmatic agile practitioner with experience in different project delivery environments, you’ll bring absolute focus to collaboration, responding to change, and delivering value.

You are keen to develop comprehensive understanding of various aspects of the squad and able to use available information to effectively to influence positive delivery outcome

You use effective reports and metrics to help the squad inspect, assess, review, and take actions to continuously improve

You proactively seek deep understanding of the customer value from deliverables and ensure it is closely aligned with product owner.

You will, at times, pick up detailed work to support team delivery and use that as opportunities to gather insights for improvement opportunities

What's in your tool kit
- 5+ years of experience working in Agile environments, ideally in organisations that have transitioned from SDLC/Waterfall to Agile delivery.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in Agile, Waterfall/SDLC, and hybrid delivery approaches.
- Extensive experience with various facilitation techniques that enhance team collaboration and productivity, leading to improved team morale.
- Practical experience in customising delivery frameworks, tools, and operating rhythms/models based on the local context.
- Proficiency in Agile tools such as Jira & Confluence is essential, along with experience implementing data and evidence-based approaches to measure team performance and success.
- Experience coaching and educating team members on complexity-based estimation, incremental planning, and work breakdown structures.
