Kennedys is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our busy commercial litigation practice based in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office.

Working closely with two highly regarded Partners, Raylee Hartwell and Matt Andrews, and a wider team of experienced Lawyers, you will predominantly be working on an interesting multi-party Federal Court litigation which has reached the discovery phase.

The focus of this work is in the insurance and trade credit space, which will involve working closely with our international offices (namely London). This is an unique opportunity for an ambitious Associate to gain hands-on technical exposure to the first-paced world of commercial litigation.

The broader insurance group in Australia have extensive experience working with both domestic and international insurers amongst other corporates across multiple lines of work, with a particular depth of expertise in professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors' and officers' (D&O), property and construction, energy, cyber, marine, transport and commercial litigation / employment.

**EXAMPLE CASES**:
The focus will be Supreme Court litigation in the trade credits space, with the opportunity to work on other insurance litigation such as:

- High value coverage disputes for financial institutions
- Directors and Officers insurance
- High value professional indemnity claims
- Subrogated recoveries on behalf of insurers
- International arbitrations
- Commodities claims

**WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR**:

- **2 years +** PQE*, from a reputable commercial litigation team
- Prior trade credits exposure is desirable but any **Federal Court**litigation experience would be advantageous
- **E-litigation**or** discovery** experience would be highly regarded
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
- Methodical and organised approach to file management
- Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics.
