- C&K Upper Kedron Childcare Centre_ is nestled within the natural bush of Upper Kedron, within the masterplanned community of Ellendale, this new early learning centre has been designed in collaboration with educators and architects, to create inviting spaces for children to explore, discover, learn and play.

C&K Upper Kedron is currently looking for a professional and experienced full-time Kitchenhand to join their team**.** Ideally you will have experience in the Early Childhood sector or relevant experience in preparing meals and snacks for large numbers, and a well-developed understanding of children's nutritional and dietary requirements.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served on time according to the needs of individual children and the program
- Ensure a high standard of hygiene is maintained at all times
- Develop and maintain an effective teamwork relationship with all staff
- Maintain direct, open and effective communication channels with all staff.
- Perform duties to maintain kitchen work areas, white goods and utensils in a clean and orderly condition
- Order and maintain appropriate food supplies according to menu requirements
- Assist in the preparation of materials for children’s cooking as required
- Participate in an appropriate food handling training program
- Undertake any duties as requested by the Centre Director
- Completing daily reports if required
- Actively participate in staff meetings and training opportunities

**Ideal applicants will have**:

- Relevant qualifications in respect to food handling is essential
- Previous experience in preparing meals and snacks for large numbers preferred
- An ability to uphold time schedules for meal preparation, while remaining flexible to the needs of the children
- Working knowledge of legislative requirements including Workplace Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards
- Must serve to promote social justice and equity by demonstrating an attitude of acceptance and respect for all children and their families
- Must be willing to ensure the individual needs of the child are catered for, in collaboration with their families the Director and the Manager
- A demonstrated commitment to continuing professional and personal development
- A proven ability to manage the kitchen environment in a safe and responsible manner
- An ability to work as an effective team member and support other staff
- An ability to work independently to achieve work goals
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high standard in preparation, ordering, storage and food handling
