At our _C&K Upper Kedron Childcare Centre_, an exciting opportunity has come available for an experience and motivated Assistant Director to join the team. As the Assistant Director, your role will be to perform your current duties and in the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director will manage the daily operations of the service to enable the delivery of a high-quality early childhood service and program in line with C&K’s vision, values and priorities. For this position, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter, who has previous experience as a leader in early childhood. You must be an approachable leader amongst the community of families, children and employees; with a hands-on approach in managing the service operationally. **What we will require from you as an Assistant Director**: The successful lead educator will pride themselves on their mentoring ability and have a passion for working closely with educators within the learning environment. We are looking for someone who can build exceptional relationships with families and who is dedicated to furthering their own learning as an early childhood professional. You will be a self-starter, who has previous experience as a leader and approachable amongst the community of families, children and employees; with a hands-on approach in managing the service operationally when required. - You must continue to perform your duties of your current role at the service as a Group Leader - When required, step up to Director position, sometimes at short notice - Assist the Director in leading the daily operations of the service - Assist the Director in ensuring the service meets compliance obligations - Model professional and ethical behaviour **You must have the ability to**: - Hold a Diploma in Early education and care (or an approved Diploma level qualification recognised by ACECQA) - Have initiative and strong sense of personal responsibility for continuous improvement, meeting objectives and managing health and safety risks. - Knowledge of National Quality Framework and Standards ("NQF" and "NQS"), the Early Years Learning Framework ("EYLF") - Previous experience working as a Lead educator or within a childcare setting - An ability to work as an effective team member - An understanding of the provision of a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment - Ability to drive and implement a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and group are met - An ability to document observations of children's behaviour and development - Demonstrated experience managing, mentoring and supporting early childhood education and care services/programs to deliver high quality outcomes. - Evidence of sound professional experience that shows initiative and strong sense of personal responsibility for meeting objectives, modelling of professional and ethical behaviour, commitment to personal development; and display or courage in the provision of advice and decision making.
