We have a great role opening up in our Digital Engagement and Insight team at the Australian National Maritime Museum. We are looking for an experienced Social Media Producer who is creative and committed to innovative, experimental and immersive ways to share stories about the sea, that put the user at the heart of the experience, both online and onsite.

As the Social Media Producer you will manage the Museum’s social medial channels to bring our collections and activities to life and build audiences for our exhibitions, programs and digital initiatives.
You will look after the organic and paid social media publishing schedule and content plan, aligning activities with other teams, including Communications, Digital and Marketing. In this position you will help evolve the Museum’s presence on social platforms, testing new products and ideas, keeping up-to-date with platform developments, advising and training colleagues, and providing analysis.
***In this position your responsibilities will also include**:
- Drive new ideas and strategies to increase the Museum’s audience and online engagement.
- Social media content strategy and creation, including ideation, planning, copywriting, and producing video and photographic content to create informative and engaging communications about the Museum’s exhibitions, programs and digital initiatives.
- Communicate Museum content clearly and accurately, ensuring it is suited to audiences, optimised for channels aligning with the Museum’s brand.
- Manage the day-to-day operations, monitoring and community management of the Museum’s social media accounts across paid and organic to deliver outstanding service to online audiences.
- Monitoring and analysis of conversation themes and sentiment to optimise content and community.
- Lead development and ongoing analysis of strategies, content plans, policies, guidelines, and best practice standards aligned with the Museum’s brand to continually improve our social media channels.
- Report on and analyse statistics to refine and optimise social media, digital communications and digital marketing initiatives.
- Provide training, editorial oversight and ongoing support for other social media account managers to ensure guideline compliance and alignment with the Museum’s brand.

**Key Selection Criteria**:
- 3-5 years' experience in written communication skills for producing social media content from scratch as well as editing supplied copy to the museum’s style and tone of voice.
- Excellent visual communication skills including the ability to select appropriate images for different social media, editing the images, and when appropriate taking photographs.
- Excellent working knowledge of current social media content concepts, developments and technologies.
- Experience on guidance on tone of voice, content creation best practice and copywriting to key stakeholders within the business.
- Experience responding to community engagement on social media in a timely and responsive manner.
- Good understanding and experience of digital content management systems.
- Demonstrable interpersonal skills and experience of working in a collaborative team environment.
- A demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines, paying due attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience working with social media insights and scheduling platforms.
- Experience providing detailed reports on the engagement, reach and social echo that results from the Museum’s media, content and channels.
- Experience researching social media trends and providing recommendations on potentially untapped social media content opportunities.
- Good video, photography and media editing skills.
- Knowledge and/or appreciation of working in a Cultural Heritage organisation.
- Experience using Meltwater insights and account scheduling platform or similar.
- Photography and video editing skills and experience with the Adobe suite and Canva.
- Experience with a Digital Asset Management system, such as Fotoware.
