UGL Regional Linx are looking for a passionate & enthusiastic Aboriginal and Social Engagement Manager to join our team.

- UGLRL is a wholly owned subsidiary of UGL. We are headquartered in Orange, NSW and operate several regional depots throughout the state.

**Job Purpose**
The Aboriginal and Social Engagement Manager is responsible for advising and strengthening the UGLRL Aboriginal Participation Plan (APP) as well as guiding and supporting staff on culturally appropriate development and delivery.
The role will support effective community engagement with Aboriginal partners, organisations, and local communities. This role is a catalyst for organisational change, contributing to the ongoing development and implementation of UGL’s Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and help to ensure that UGL meets their goals of being a genuinely culturally responsive and engaged organisation.
**Key Responsibilities**
Identify and establish key contacts within local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and Torres Strait Islander communities including liaising with Local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander land Councils and other government bodies.
Provide mentoring and guidance for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and Torres Strait Islander employees.
Encourage, promote and assist all UGLRL staff in participating in Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander events: National Reconciliation Week, NAIDOC Week, and other significant events.
Ensure cultural protocol is being practiced in the workplace. This includes Welcome to Country ceremonies (where appropriate), Acknowledgement to Country (where appropriate), engagement with Aboriginal people and communities in a culturally safe manner.
Drive and implement Cultural competency training across UGLRL.
Support other key diversity events identified in the annual Diversity and Inclusion calendar for UGLRL.
Participate in meetings, working groups and subgroups where possible relating to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander participation and social inclusion.
Champion, inspire, encourage, and achieve a truly diverse and inclusive working culture.
Drive change and proactively achieve engagement across internal and external stakeholders to increase Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander participation in the workforce and industry.
Be familiar with the NSW Aboriginal Procurement Policy (NSWAPP) and UGL Reconciliation Action Plan (UGLRAP).
Drive and review the UGLRL Aboriginal Participation Plan (UGLRL APP) utilizing this document as a key framework in how to deliver Aboriginal Participation across the CRN.
Drive and implement the Regional Linx Aboriginal Working Group. Participate in establishing a meeting related to the working group report on all findings.
Assist build and maintain community-based contacts to ensure ongoing connectivity and collaboration.
Assists in building a learning organisation, reflecting a culturally competent and inclusive workforce, specifically with regards to Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander and Torres Islander employees, suppliers, and customers.
First point of contact for day to day Indigenous & social Inclusion.
Proactively encourage, drive and champion L&D initiatives to support an increase in the number of indigenous employees.
Promote L&D activities and engagement with key business streams & stakeholders: Indigenous communities; TfNSW; Engineers Australia, Universities, D&I advisor, Corporate/CIMIC representatives and UGL partners
**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications or experience in a relevant discipline e.g. Business, project management, community services, social welfare or related field.
Must have experience with working with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities.
