Questacon - The National Science and Technology Centre is a division of the Australian Government Department of Industry Science and Resources. Science communication is at the heart of what we do. We work with partners and supporters to deliver inspirational learning experiences for young Australians, their teachers, families and communities.

Questacon’s Science and Learning branch is responsible for the quality and creative direction, national strategic engagement and impact of Questacon’s Science and Learning activities. The branch delivers a wide range of Questacon’s successful exhibitions and experiences including the Questacon Science Circus and Engineering is Elementary programs, Spectacular Science Shows and facilitated experiences at the Questacon Centre.

The Science and Learning branch connects STEM opportunities to communities across Australia and interacts with a wide network of stakeholders from the science, academic, cultural, business, government, industry and community sectors to deliver impactful science learning and engagement outcomes and ensure all Australians can access Questacon wherever they are.

**About the team**:
The Digital Content and Engagement Team develops and delivers digital content in multiple forms - the Questacon website, social media and streaming platforms - and is entering an exciting phase in facilitating Questacon’s digital modernisation. It is a dynamic and insightful team that works across all areas of Questacon to:

- Support audience engagement via digital products and services
- Understand our online user and share insights across the organisation to improve engagement outcomes
- Collaborate and understand user needs to increase engagement, efficiency of services, communication and collaboration
- Strengthen digital literacy and provide technical AV support
- Provide advice on digital capability and how to get the most out of our online experiences

**The opportunity**:
This role provides the opportunity to build on our international reputation for hands-on engagement with Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths and develop Questacon’s user experience on-site, online and on the road.

You will work collaboratively with teams across Questacon and play a key role in defining Questacon’s digital future.
- Experience in development and delivery of digital, STEM or science engagement strategies for a public facing institution with multiple digital touch points
- Strong strategic direction and people management skills with capacity to inspire, motivate and lead staff in an inclusive environment
- Well-developed organisational, planning and project management skills
- Initiative, self-awareness and resilience in a changing workplace environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to develop and support a collaborative and positive culture of problem solving and data informed decision making
- Experience in the delivery of new digital and service delivery initiatives, supporting others to take ownership of digital services delivery
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams preferably in digital/online disciplines
- High level oral and written communication skills
- Personal drive, integrity, professionalism and a commitment to APS Values, Code of Conduct and WHS principles

- Lead initiatives to identify and implement continuous improvement and innovation to Questacon’s audience engagement strategies, strengthening our online presence and supporting business objectives
- Lead the creative use of resources and iterative design, embracing principles of experimentation and play, to inform, develop and refine digital innovation and deliver on integrated engagement outcomes for the organisation.
