The Chief Operating Officer (COO) Group sits within the department’s Corporate and Digital Division and includes the corporate functions of People, Property and Protective Security, Legal, and Communications to support business areas across the department to achieve their goals.

**The opportunity**

People Branch sits within the department’s Corporate and Digital Division and is responsible for strategic and operational focused HR advice and services, to support business areas in meeting their workforce needs.

We are looking for an Executive Support Officer who is innovative and forward-thinking to provide high level strategic advice and support to our General Manager and management team on a range of issues to achieve branch outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will have had demonstrated experience in assisting senior executive, be used to managing a high volume of work including correspondence preparation, managing competing priorities and have an understanding of organisational processes.

High-level communication skills, both oral and written, will be integral to your ability to perform successfully. You will regularly assist with preparing and coordinating briefing materials for various forums. This can include preparing complex or sensitive correspondence, documentation, reports, submissions, and meeting papers.

**What you will do**:
As an Executive Support Officer in People Branch, you will:

- contribute to shaping the strategic direction of the Branch to achieve outcomes,
- facilitate collaboration with key stakeholders and build strong networks while promoting the Branch’s business objectives,
- support the General Manager and management team on matters including staffing, internal budgets, and other corporate matters,
- manage the workflow in and out of the branch, ensuring all materials and briefings are received and actioned in a timely manner,
- identify and address opportunities, risks, and emerging issues,
- develop high quality communication products, and
- work closely with the Division’s Executive Support team to identify and resolve issues that may impact the successful execution of Senior Executives’ responsibilities.
