THE OPPORTUNITY
The Talent Acquisition Coordinator will coordinate a variety of HR and systems administration activities, primarily aligned to Talent Management / Recruitment, as well as drive the planning and delivery of Garvan wide People & Culture operations services and initiatives, aligned to Garvan’s People & Culture strategy. This will include service delivery, annual People & Culture calendar events, as well as individual initiatives and projects across the employee lifecycle.
They will work closely with the Talent Lead to enable the end-to-end recruitment process and provide advice and guidance to people managers and employees on People policies and processes. This is a fantastic role if you are looking for hands on experience in Talent Acquisition. You will also have many opportunities to become involved in a variety of strategic priorities and HR initiatives. **Salary**: From $70k + super + salary packaging benefits
Employment Type: 12-month fixed term contract. This role has the flexibility to be full-time or part-time. We are open to new graduates, people returning to work after a career break, those requiring work/life flexibility.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Talent Management & Recruitment (Primary)
- Support the P&C Talent Lead with recruitment brief from P&C Science Partner and/or Hiring Manager
- Drafting job advertisements and seeking approval from hiring manager
- Positing job advertisements online
- Screening CVs
- Scheduling interviews
- Complete the hire process / employment contract generation for new starters
- Running staff inductions
- Supporting staff through the on-line onboarding process
- Complete reference checks
People & Culture Service Delivery and Administration (Secondary)
- Lead processing of workday job change requests, where relevant checking validity with P&C Science Partner
- Complete the hire process for new starters and manage the employee separation process for staff leaving the organisation
- Serve as a primary payroll conduit from the P&C team, escalating within the P&C team where relevant and prioritising requests from payroll amongst other workload and especially during pay runs
- Complete monthly payroll cut-off checks - such as contract end dates, separations etc
- Keep P&C intranet pages up to date
- Effective implementation of People & Culture Annual Calendar events, including the delivery planning, data preparation, People & Culture team co-ordination, program tracking and issue management
- Lead and/or contribute to designated in-year people projects and initiatives. Working with the People & Culture team to drive the implementation of people solutions and undertaking associated tasks and processes necessary to achieve desired outcomes.
ABOUT YOU
The key skills and experience include:
- A relevant degree in Human Resources (or currently working towards) or related discipline or TAFE diploma in Human Resources or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in managing HR information systems including data management and reporting (Workday experience desirable)
- Experience in HR and office administration for a medium to large organisation
- Demonstrated ability - attention to detail, results orientated, whilst managing multiple priorities
- Ability to work collaboratively with managers and employees at all levels
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management skills and ability to prioritise tasks and handle competing deadlines
- Flexible, mature attitude with the ability to work as part of a small team
