Working within a global organisation, this role partners directly with the Country Manager and leadership team in Australia by providing strategic and operational Human Resource management service and support in alignment with company strategies and priorities, to position PCL as an employer of choice.

Here's how a(n) People and Culture Business Partner for our Australia office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:

- Proactively lead the design of roles and structures to meet business needs and manage routine resource planning initiatives, while ensuring operational activity is compliant with all requirements of the Fair Work Act and other applicable legislation.
- Lead local market research and analysis for salary/bonus review cycle and effectively project manage the annual performance and remuneration review processes.
- Lead investigations and provide guidance, coaching and training to supervisors through all employee relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, performance counsel and career management, ensuring fair people and business outcomes and communications.
- Lead regular talent identification and succession planning sessions to ensure a sustainable pipeline for business critical roles.
- Drive compliance with corporate policy and applicable legislation and provide guidance and coaching to employees and managers on HR programs, policy, and legislative interpretation. Ensure corporate policies are adapted to reflect legislation.
- Participate in the HR strategic planning process. Lead development, execution, and evaluation of project initiatives as assigned (training plan, health & wellness, etc.).
- Provide local market input to the design of HR programs, policies, and practices and lead the communication and implementation of them within the Australian market.
- Process administrative tasks, such as managing employee files in accordance with legislative requirements, coordinating payroll with PCL’s service provider, creating requisitions and job postings, pre-employment assessments, administering the service award program and routine reporting and analytics.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders, service providers and agencies.
- Deliver training programs and complex facilitation sessions. Develop and implement comprehensive training assessments and plans to support district talent management strategies.
- Implement initiatives to understand employee sentiment and support managers in initiatives that drive deeper employee engagement and promote a positive culture
- Travels to remote project sites on a regular basis.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree qualified in either Human Resources or a Business discipline.
- 3 - 5 years of HR generalist experience partnering with senior leaders.
- Able to tactfully and diplomatically deal with people and act with discretion when handling confidential information.
- Able to interpret and analyse information and data and make recommendations.
- Seen as a trusted advisor with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decisions makers.
- Advanced organizational skills, high level of detail orientation, and ability to multitask and prioritise conflicting deadlines.
