**About the opportunity**

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Transformational Projects team on a term contract, full-time basis up to 12 months.

You will be responsible for the implementation and activation of Council's communications and engagement activities related to the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG) Transformational Projects.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Tertiary qualification (minimum diploma) in communications, public relations, journalism or marketing
- Solid experience in communications or relevant
- Current Class C driver's licence.

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in managing challenging stakeholder issues
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment delivering high-quality work to tight timeframes
- International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) or equivalent training in community engagement
- Knowledge of political sensitivity in representation of the program and projects to elected representatives and community. Local government or NSW government experience is highly desirable
- Experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,560.32 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
