**About the opportunity**

We are seeking a Project Accounting Officer to join our team on a term contract, full-time basis for up to 5 years.

This role is primarily responsible for:

- Project budget management including reconciliation financial reporting, invoicing, cost and expenditure management
- Assisting with contract management
- General project duties primarily related to the delivery of the WSIG program
- Other projects within the Transformational Projects Program as required.

**Qualifications and experience**

**Essential**:

- Degree qualifications in an accounting or Finance related discipline
- Solid relevant work experience on Project management and accounting or finance field
- Current class C driver’s licence
- Demonstrated numerical abilities in presenting data in Microsoft Excel worksheets
- High level computer software skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel and Electronic Document Management.

**Desirable**:

- Demonstrated ability to meet the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders
- Highly developed organizational and administrative skills with an attention to detail
- Sound knowledge of the Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulations in relation to procurement
- Demonstrated knowledge of Technology One Financial Management Information System and Document Management systems
- High level oral and written communication skills to a broad range of audiences
- Availability to work flexible working hours.

**Remuneration and benefits**

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,729.05 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
